Introduction

Moonbeam is not only compatible with Polkassembly and Polkadot.js, but also has its own DApp that allows users to directly participate in on-chain governance. The interface is user-friendly and provides a comprehensive overview of all open proposals.

Connecting to Moonbeam DApp

To get started, visit https://apps.moonbeam.network/moonbeam and connect your wallet to the DApp. Moonbeam DApp supports various types of wallets, including Talisman, Nova, Subwallet, and Enkrypt. For this example, we will be using MetaMask.

Exploring Governance

Next, navigate to the GOVERNANCE section in the left sidebar and click on the Overview sub-tab. Here, you will find all the open proposals along with their basic information, such as proposal time and status.

Voting on a Proposal

Now, click on the proposal you want to vote on. The specific proposal page will display a summary and detailed information. We recommend clicking on the corresponding Moonbeam forum post link (if available) to learn more. Forum posts often include community discussions and additional information, such as icons and links. Scroll down the page to find the proposal's schedule and metadata.

In the top right corner of the page, select "Vote".

Choose either 'Aye' to approve or 'Nay' to oppose the proposal. Enter the amount of GLMR tokens you want to vote with and the conviction (locking period) value. Note that you should keep some GLMR tokens in your wallet for gas fees.

Review all the submitted information and click "Vote". Confirm the transaction in MetaMask.
